Rex has a PhD in Education, majoring in Applied Linguistics from the University of the Immaculate Conception, Davao City, Philippines. He also studied Master of Arts in Language Teaching, majoring in English from the University of Southeastern Philippines, Davao City, Philippines. Rex graduated with a Bachelor in Secondary Education, majoring also in English, from the Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia, Davao City, Philippines.
